Cod liver oil or fish oil?
Share
It's likely best to take only fish oil or cod liver oil, but not both together. Both fish oil and cod liver oil are excellent source of nutrients, particularly omega-3 fatty acids, which contain the two essential compounds DHA and EPA, which play important roles in the function of the body.
There are some differences between cod liver oil and fish oil. For example, they contain different levels of omega-3 fatty acids and different vitamins. Cod liver oil contains vitamins A and D, which are generally not found in regular fish oil, which help reduce inflammation, reduce joint pain, support better eye health, reduce heart related problems, maintain bone, teeth and skin health, and so on.
If you need those extra vitamins A and D, you can take cod liver oil. If you don't want those extra vitamins, fish oil will do just as well.
