It's likely best to take only fish oil or cod liver oil, but not both together. Both fish oil and cod liver oil are excellent source of nutrients, particularly omega-3fatty acids, which contain the two essential compounds DHA and EPA, which play important roles in the function of the body.

If you need those extra vitamins A and D, you can take cod liver oil. If you don't want those extra vitamins, fish oil will do just as well.
