Simple Stretches for Healthier Joints

Feeling stiff when you get out of bed, after sitting for a long time, or after a busy day?
Regular stretching can help keep your joints moving comfortably and maintain flexibility. You don't need a complicated routine—just a few gentle stretches each day can make a difference.

Try these 5 simple stretches:
1️⃣ Knee-to-Chest Stretch
Lie on your back and gently bring one knee toward your chest. Hold for 15–20 seconds, then switch legs.

2️⃣ Hamstring Stretch
Sit on the edge of a chair and extend one leg forward with your heel on the floor. Keep your back straight and gently lean forward. Hold for 15–20 seconds.

3️⃣ Calf Stretch
Stand facing a wall with one leg behind you. Keep the back heel on the floor and gently lean toward the wall. Hold for 15–20 seconds.

4️⃣ Quad Stretch
While standing and holding onto a chair for balance, gently bend one knee and bring your heel toward your buttocks. Hold for 15–20 seconds.

5️⃣ Shoulder & Arm Stretch
Bring one arm across your chest and gently pull it closer with your other arm. Hold for 15–20 seconds, then switch sides.

Remember:
✔ Stretch gently—you should feel tension, not pain.
✔ Don't bounce while stretching.
✔ Breathe normally.
✔ Regular practice is more useful than stretching intensely once in a while.
✔ If you have an existing joint injury or persistent pain, check with a healthcare professional before starting a new exercise routine.

Healthy joints aren't just about avoiding pain—they're about keeping your body moving.
